Chasse d'Oudry is a jacquard woven tapestry with a scene in a landscape surrounded by woods where horsemen prepare the pack of stag hounds to the sound of hunting horns.

Chasse d'Oudry is a jacquard woven tapestry with a scene in a landscape surrounded by woods where horsemen prepare the pack of stag hounds to the sound of hunting horns.

Stag hunting was a noble amusement and one of the favourite hobbies of lords in the past. In the 18th century, tapestries were very often woven with those scenes.

This hunting scene was created by the famous French animal painter, Jean-Baptiste Oudry.

Our know-how allows us to retranscribe many details and to give relief to these reproductions thanks to the effects of weave and material. All our tapestries are fully lined with a sleeve along the top and eyelets in order to offer several alternatives for hanging: either by hooks placed in the eyelets, or by a visible rod or a wooden batten which is a concealed method of hanging. On each tapestry a certificate of authenticity is affixed.

This tapestry is entirely woven and made in France in our workshops in Flanders located in the North.
