The bullfight and its world are a great passion of Pablo Picasso and a way to get closer to Spain where he could not go since the Second World War.
From September 1970 to April 1971 Pablo Picasso painted twelve bullfighters of varying sizes and almost all of them oil on canvas. Our Matador cushion is from one of these paintings from 1970. The contrasts of the character are vivid on a woven cotton background in black. Made with the agreement of the Pablo Picasso estate.
