Our cushion cover is a monogram. It is the initial of a name, usually followed by the second letter of the name, intertwined into a single character, sometimes with ornamentation. It is used for signing and is found on any object belonging to the owner of the monogram. Thus M A is the monogram referring to Marie Antoinette (1755-1793) which appears on many objects at the Château de Versailles.
Our jacquard cushion is entirely woven and made in France in our workshop Les Tissages de la Lys, which has the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label.
